About

Hello beautiful people! Thank you for taking the time to check this blog out- it means the world to me! I want to start off by introducing myself to you all (whomever you maybe! 😝) and tell you all a little bit about myself. This almost feels like one of those dating websites or a throw back -A/S/L (for whomever that is old enough to remember what those online chat rooms were like lol).

My name is Jamie and I’m from the big Apple- NEW YORK CITY! Born and raised here in this beautiful city but, if you want to get technical, I’m from Queens. Just about 25 minutes or so from NYC. A little about me? I love staying in bed all day when it rains, a good cup of coffee (sorry Dunkin’- you just don’t do it for me. Not strong enough!) going on spontaneous weekend road trips, figuring out outfits for an upcoming trip, creating the perfect bun when I’m too lazy to do my hair (my hair is too long and it’s annoying sometimes, ugh!) and walking through the tall trees turning colors during autumn, it’s like magic! I can also eat pasta and pizza like there’s no tomorrow.

I live in “The city that never sleeps”, but to me it’s just the place I call Home.

I work for a luxury boutique travel agency in midtown. Family owned and travel is pretty much all I know! How exactly did I get into the travel industry you may ask? Well, it didn’t come as easy as you may think. I decided to be a “rebel” and refused to join the family business. I wanted to do it my way and that didn’t work out as well as I wanted it to 😅. Fast forward a few years later and well, here I am!

I didn’t realize what was right in front of me this whole time. I didn’t even realize that I had such a passion for travel until it hit me in the face! I’ve been surrounded by everyone in my family that works in the travel industry, that I didnt even see it myself. How’s that for ignorant, huh?! Lol. We all have to start somewhere though, right?

And it doesn’t matter how long it takes us to realize what we want to do with our lives. The only thing that DOES matter, is that you’re now doing it!

SO, I’m a marketing coordinator and basically I handle all the marketing aspects of the agency- social media and the works! As you may suspect, I do travel often. Not as much as I would like, but I work with what I can. I figured, all these travel bloggers do it, why can’t I? So, I made the plunge and made it official- changed my Instagram handle (@wildsoulwanders) and all and my picture quality became a bit more thought out and better filtered. (Thanks to my favorite travel blogger- Aggie aka Travel_inhershoes- for her creating the most perfect Presets on the free mobile app called Lightroom). It was the hardest thing ever changing my handles from what it was To now WildSoulWanders. I’ve literally always been known as, “Jamie G”. But, I did it anyway and here I am. Slowly and steady- at MY own pace and no one else’s.

My bad for the long intro! 😬 Hope I havent put you to sleep with all my chatter but!- continuing on and wrapping up now.

Resuming on what is “About Me” and my life- I rescued a pitbull/border collie mix from the NYC Animal Control Center, his name is Stefano and he is the best thing that’s ever happened to me. If you’ve seen the Pixar animated movie, Coco, then you’ll know why I call Stefano my “spirit dog”. He’s the reason I’m a huge advocate for adopting your pup instead of buying one 😊. He was an hour away from being put down and I came to the rescue after months of tracking his status on their website. Call it fate. Follow him on Instagram, he’s a riot!- Adventures_of_Stefano.

If you’re wondering who takes my pictures- surprise surprise!- they’re not done by a professional! 😂 My mom, friends and my amazing boyfriend are the people that contribute to my passion. That and I ask like, a zillion times before they say yes lol. As Aaliyah says, if at first you don’t succeed, dust yourself off and try again!! My boyfriend actually gifted me my very first camera right before my Tulum trip. (Thank you my love!) I still find myself using my iPhone 7 Plus at times, but I’m still figuring out how to use my Sony a6000, so cut me a break 🙏🏼! (Any takers on teaching me how, I’ll totes accept! 😊)

And so, I’ll be sharing on here MY version of blogging, my travels, experiences, tips, advice, outfits for everyday or for your trips and some inspiration in general!

This is my safe space and I’m glad to share it with you all.

I hope you’ll join me and my shenanigans through out this crazy thing we call- LIFE and now, blog!

Love Always,

Jamie
